PROJECT MONDO G – A doudoune car, Moncler’s automotive partnership with Mercedes-Benz – LUXE.TV

A doudoune car is the fun concept that   Mercedes-Benz and Moncler came up
with during London fashion week. Called PROJECT MONDO G, this concept recreates
the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class by merging   The characteristics of the G-Class with the
distinctive signs of the Moncler down jacket. A car and piece of art that was
first unveiled at Moncler's "The Art of Genius" show during London Fashion Week. PROJECT MONDO G marks Moncler's
first automotive partnership. The result is a dramatic contrast between
the angular design of the G-Class and the soft, Flowing lines of the quilted textile. Essential and inimitable,
with functionality at its core, These two functional objects
have become, over the last decades, Material examples of a lifestyle of value and luxury. The fusion of these opposites has therefore
given birth to a sculptural object: PROJECT MONDO G which invites you to
experience the transformation Of a once purely utilitarian object into a designed work. And its dimensions are impressive: 4.6 m long, 2.8 m high, 3.4 m wide including
spectacular wheels and a weight of 2.5 tonnes. A closer examination reveals other characteristics: The rough patina which is the visible trace of use, And which refers to
functionality and practicality. Perfect, shiny reflective surfaces that
underpin the claim to luxury. It is also no coincidence that
the PROJECT MONDO G sports a huge zipper, Another deliberately
striking and eye-catching element. This zipper is a practical reference to
the versatility and variability of products, Vehicle and jacket. According to Mercedes-Benz, this first
collaboration with Moncler Opens new horizons and creates opportunities That will lead to other novelties very soon.
