Maison Hennessy presents the
new Methuselah Hennessy X.O, A creation designed by architect
Frank Gehry and produced by Baccarat. After a first collaboration on the occasion of
the 150th anniversary of Hennessy X.O in 2020, The Maison once again called on the
artist to design this unique piece. A six-liter Methuselah in thirty copies,
which suggests the power of Hennessy X.O. Made by Baccarat, the Mathusaleh carafe with
a capacity of six liters seems to emerge from A stand, the blocks of which evoke ice.
Its transparency reveals the cognac it contains. Frank Gehry here expresses his interest
in the techniques of movement and light. This design reflects the vitality of the
vineyards, the waters of the Charente That flow through Cognac, as well as the
richness of the blend of Hennessy X.O. After receiving the drawing of the bottle,
the team at Baccarat understood the artistic Stakes of Frank Gehry. The design and dimensions
required more than 30 kilos of Baccarat crystal. Creating this carafe required
the development of new techniques And the design of specific tools
and adapted thermal cycles. Technical complexities that they overcame by
creating thirty molds, each dedicated to a sculpture. Proud to collaborate with one of
the most recognized architects of his time, The craftsmen of Baccarat were determined
to respect the designer’s intention. It took them several months of work to
