Lunar New Year is approaching, it is the period
of ”Lai See”, the little red envelopes containing Money, traditionally exchanged during the Chinese
New Year meal from parents to their children. For the coming year, at The Peninsula Paris,
LiLi restaurant celebrates the Water Rabbit: A combination of the symbol of prosperity
and peace, and the element Water, Representing wealth in Chinese culture.
For this festive dinner, the Cantonese gastronomic Restaurant LiLi invites its guests to taste a
cuisine of traditional dishes, prepared with The flagship ingredients of the Chinese New Year.
The culinary experience begins with an assortment Of starters selected by Chef Tak, followed by
an Atlantic salmon served according to the Lo Hei tradition – a mixture of vegetables and fish.
This is followed by a selection of the Chef’s Dim Sum, A traditional Chinese soup, sautéed lobster,
beef tenderloin with garlic and chilli sauce, And Chinese noodles with braised crab.
Longevity, prosperity and happiness, This menu with Asian flavors and strong symbolism
ends with a selection of Cantonese desserts: Sticky rice pearls infused with ginger syrup,
red bean brioche and the traditional Chinese New Year sticky rice cake, the Nian Gao.
